As Mary Sheedy Kurchinka said in her book, "How to Raise a Spirited Child," this is a child that is more intense, sensitive, perceptive, and energetic. These kids are definitely more challenging to parents, an are often given many negative labels. Using Kurchinka's philosophies and knowledge of child development, parenting skills and expectations that work for spirited children, we can work together to create a more satisfying and productive parent-child-family relationship.
